MATERIALS

As a company1 brand and individuals we always strive to reduce our environmental footprint. As a fashion label1 fabric selection is a key factor for us; 80% of our fabrics come from organic fibers such as viscose1 cotton and silk. A small percentage of our fabrics have synthetic fibers and this is due to the textile industry being in its developmental stages. However, the small percentage of synthetic fibers in our garments will only be utilized until we can achieve high quality and resistant fabrics to fulfill our needs. Synthetic fabrics generate polluting particles during their production process and when garments end up in landfills they can take years to disintegrate.

Furthermore1 a key point for us is to produce the fabrics in the same geographical location where we produced the garments. This process reduces the distance of the fabric transporting to the factory and also empowers the local industrial culture and workers.

ORGANIC

After several tests we decided to include organic fabrics with Fairtrade and GOTS certifications in our collections. The first collection which included the use of organic fabrics was Ancient Burma Spring Summer 2021.

MATERIALS

Instead of employing traditional printing techniques that use a lot of water in the process1 we print our fabrics digitally. We've made it our mission to create beautiful1 sustainable products that are printed with water-based ink on eco-friendly fabrics1 all while reducing the amount of water that goes into each product.

WASTE

We are behind each stage of the production processes in order to reduce waste to the minimum possible.

When we design garments with placement print, we take our time to survey the panels so as to make full use of the fabric. To reduce waste, we manage each part of the production process from cutting pieces of fabric to printing patterns. Our experienced cutting masters place pieces of fabricas accurately as possible before our printing masters place the patterns on top.

However, when it is inevitable, we think of ways of reusing the fabric preventing it from going to waste by converting remnants into value using them for garments for a new collection.

PACKAGING

We are always looking for sustainable alternatives in labeling and packaging. AII our labeis are 100% cotton fabric. The brand's hang tag and the composition tag, both are made of recycled and compostable cardboard paper.

TRANSPARENCY & TRACEABILITY

As a start-up company in the fashion industry, we carried out a dedicated search for suppliers and factories. This means that we know where the fabrics come from and where they are printed, the factories where we cut and stitch our garments, the warehouses where we store them, as well as our customer stores.

Traveling and meeting the factories and offices where our collections are manufactured allows us to ensure that production meets our standards and that it does not reach cooperative factories we do not approve of.

SUPPLIER RELATIONSHIP

We believe that a close relationship with all of our suppliers not only allows us to delve into details to enable us to create unique products, but also to witness the different manufacturing processes of the factories. And most importantly, to ensure that human and labor rights are respected.

lt is very important for us to be part of each stage of the process. We believe that respect is the basis of any relationship and we feel our suppliers are our partners in business.

CARE

We are dedicated to manufacturing good quality garments and strive to minimize our environmental footprint. We believe that the customer also has the possibility of making a responsible use of their garments by making them last as long as possible. To encourage customers in this respect, we offer suggestions that can help extend the life of garments as much as possible.

 WASHING

Washing clothes consumes a lot of water that we do not reuse. We possibly don't need to wash a garment after each use as much as we normally would. Try airing or carefully hand-washing it in a bucket if the care label indicates so. Avoid tumble-drying. lnstead1 let your clothes dry on a flat surface1 hang them on a line or use a drying-rack to air dry them. You can also replace the iron by hanging garments and exposing them to steam when you take a bath1 for example.

 DRY CLEANING

Today there are many dry-cleaning companies that use eco-friendly products. Search for an eco-friendly dry cleaner in your city and make sure to ask about their environmentally friendly cleaning products, and the chemicals they use.

REPAIRING

Sometimes we stop using a garment because a seam opened ora button has broken. You don't really need great experience to be able to fix it. This activity will surely connect you more with your garment so that you will want to spend more moments with it. Nowadays1 everything can be learnt on the internet. There are even sewing lessons! lf we still haven't convinced you and you don't have anyone to help you, you can look for a seamstress nearby who beyond being happy to help you'II be giving work to another person.

DONATING

When the seasons pass by and you realize you are not wearing your clothes, or when you think they no longer fit as well as they used to, don't leave them lost in the closet. lnstead, you can help someone in need and give a new life to that garment. What you are not wearing anymore may be indispensable for someone else. You may know somebody in your neighborhood who could make use of your clothes, and if not, you can check in your city, there are many organizations that are dedicated to collecting and donating clothes to those who need it most. Just bare in mind that what you give away should be clean and in good conditions, and don't forget, everything you give comes back!

RECYCLING

When your clothes cannot be mended and you cannot wear them anymore, we encourage you to think about giving them a new use. lf you have manual talents, you can surely turn your garment into a beautiful object, and you can also take out buttons and zippers and keep them in case you need a replacement. Or you can simply make sure it doesn't end up in the trash and take it to a plant or recycling center.

GETTING INFORMED

The simplest and most economical way of not damaging the environment is to inform ourselves. Many times, unknowingly, we may be favoring causes that actually harm us. Being conscious of what we are buying, the damage that some materials may cause, where our garments are made, or what is the social and environmental commitment of the brands we consume is the best way to contribute to the care of our planet.
